Smt. K. Swarnambika is an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of 2013 batch borne on Nagaland cadre. She holds a Bachelor degree in Computer Science Engineering from Madras University. She has served as ‘Project Leader’ in IT industry for five years both in India and USA together before joining the service. She is currently posted as Deputy Secretary of Auroville Foundation. She has served in various capacity starting from the date of joining the service till date and has taken many initiatives for the improvement of the system.

During her District practical training time as Acting officer-In-Charge of police station in Dimapur, Nagaland, her series of action against ‘Extortion’ has garnered wide support from general public despite confrontation with one of the dominant Insurgent groups of Nagaland.

She has introduced many initiatives in the capacity of Assistant commandant, Sub-Divisional police officer, SP (Police Headquarters) and SP (Cybercrime). Re-constituting of the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit at each District level was one of her significant contributions as SP (Human Resources & Social Justice). While she was serving as SP (Longleng),one of the districts of Nagaland during the Loksabha election,2019,her diplomatic role with the counterpart neighbouring district of the Assam State resulted in smooth election polling in one of the Disputed Area Belt regions between Assam and Nagaland which had zero polling in the previous year Assembly Election.

She has served in State police Intelligence for more than two years in the capacity of SP (Special Branch). Her role as supervisory officer in the Intelligence wing  has witnessed a tremendous improvement in the system including setting up of E-FRRO to track overstaying of foreigners. She was also holding additional charge as SP(Security) and conducted many VVIP visits and crucial National events.

She assumed charge as SP, Kiphire district, one of the districts in Indo-Myanmar border during the crucial time of the State Legislative assembly 2023 facing significant challenges posed by the unwanted elements. She played a pivotal role in managing the situation and successfully conducted the election.

She has taken many welfare activities for the police personnel wherever she served. She was awarded with ‘DGP Silver Commendation Disc’ in the year 2022 in recognition of her sincerity and devotion towards her assigned duties and was awarded with ‘Antrik Suraksha Seva Padak’ and First and Second bar to the ‘Police Special Duty’ medal for serving in North-East. She also received ‘Lions Centennial Award ‘by Lions Club in the year 2017.She received ‘Appreciation Letter’ from the Director General, Narcotics Control Bureau for her ‘operation Good Samaritan’ initiative, a first of its kind across the country having police-public collaboration to go for door-to-door campaign against drug abuse which received a very positive response from the community with people of all ages coming forward for the noble cause. She also received ‘Appreciation letter’ from the US Consul General, Kolkata for effective security arrangements during her visit to the state.
